Starting your Web Career
OK, as my previous post mentioned, I did a presentation for 30 or so students at Edith Cowan University two days ago. They have kindly recorded and podcasted the event for their students, and here’s the result (Right click to save as…);
- Starting your Web Career (mp3, 28 minutes, 6.4mb)
- Starting your Web Career (PDF file, 1.9mb)
I had fun preparing and doing it, and although the audio isn’t 100% perfect, it’s fairly good for just an iPod with microphone. The PDF is an export from Keynote, so imagine some funky transitions in with my average design, and you’ll be set.
I’d be interested in hearing peoples thoughts on both the content and the audio quality, criticism and compliments welcome.

I’ll have to give it a listen on the way home tonight, sure beats listening to all the bad noises my car is making at the moment :)

The audio quality was fine. I could here everything that was said clearly. I also found it very easy to follow what slide you were currently talking about (which is a nice touch for us playing at home).
It’s quite interesting to hear your take on what skills/languages/paradigms a developer role should have. A friend I talked to also mentioned dotnet (along with AJAX etc.).
I am curious what it is about dotnet that makes you mention it. That is, who is using it and for what prurposes.
